March School Holidays 2020: Fun Activities And Places To Explore With Your Children

Have you been keeping your little ones at home with the Covid-19 virus outbreak? Weekend plans must have been scrapped and you are having them stay indoors as much as possible as a precaution. However, staying at home can be quite boring and they must be itching to go out and have some fun (who doesn’t?).

This upcoming one-week March school holidays from 14 March to 22 March, consider taking time off to spend time with your child and boost low morale and reduce anxiety.

  1. Go on an adventure with Pororo & Friends

Pororo & Friends is a famous cartoon from South Korea and you can actually relive the TV show at the life-size Pororo Park at Marina Square. Let your children play & learn at the same time with a series of fun & engaging activities (such as playing pretend at Petty’s supermarket, exploring Pororo’s house and diving in the Shark Ball Pool) led by the curious little penguin, Pororo, and his many pals.

As part of their efforts to curb the Covid-19 virus, all crew members of Pororo Park Singapore starts the day with temperature taking and frequent hand sanitisation.

According to their Facebook page, aside from making sure that there are no more than 40 kids a time in the play park, they continuously sanitise frequently touched surfaces (every 2 hours) and disinfect their premises.

P.S. PramWash has a booth there every Saturday from 10.30AM to 6.30PM for parents so you can drop your strollers or car seats there while your kids play!

2. Enjoy playtime in an indoor playground

If you have a baby or toddler, you can consider spending quality family time and give them an environment to play in without the chaos at the Tots Society. Their indoor playground comes without the typical overstimulating elements or cluttered spaces at other indoor playgrounds.

In view of the covid-19 virus, the staff has been taking the temperatures and sanitising the hands of toddlers and babies who enter the playroom, as well as the temperatures of accompanying adults.

Guests who display symptoms of an illness are politely declined entry. Toys are disinfected daily and monthly misting is performed as usual, so you can feel at ease there with your kid.

3. Expand their imagination with pottery

Does your child need a creative outlet? Clay is a wondrous, tactile medium that your kids would love to explore. Your child will experiment a variety of hand building techniques and have fun squishing, squelching, pinching, rolling, poking, stretching and pounding the clay.

The pliable nature of clay allows children to expand their imagination and creativity while they use their fingers as tools. Creating with clay develops concentration and patience, as well as expanding innovative problem solving skills.

You can paint on t-shirts, tote bags, shoes or on a canvas too, as a base to display on your walls.

Art jamming does not just help you tap into your artistic side. It is also a great bonding activity for couples, families, and friends.
